90% tax on bonuses given to employees

March 20th, 2009 · No Comments · webfrost

As per Yahoo: Chief Executive Vikram Pandit on Friday criticized legislation that would tax bonuses at many financial companies heavily. He was afraid to lose all the talented employees after this new rule being in place. It will charge 90% tax on bonuses given to employees who makes more than $250,000 and the company has received $5B from the government.

I have mixed feeling in this comment, I totally understand his point of not to loose the talented people, but on the other hand, I totally agree with the new rule, as how talented can you be to make more than 10 times as other people does, that is not a good solution while your company is using other poor people’s money, so I am happy that Obama has proposed this plan!
