Interestingly, this site exists – it was launched as a bona fide. legitimate Wiki site last year along with a partner, Wilfried Mestdagh. I actually did a bit of work on this recently, updating the graphic and installing the latest version of MediaWiki.

Directions Community

This link is actually broken. At one time we considered making it a GIS media aggregation site using content from web-mapper.com (which seems to no longer exist), mp2kmag.com (which I still update), and directionsmag.com (which is going strong).

Phone’s, PDA’s, and Mobile Devices

This link was also broken (fixed now), it points to a Amazon affiliate site for phones.

Greg Bear Bookstore

This is a list of ten of Greg Bear’s best-selling books at the time, all of which point to Amazon as affiliate links. It was an early attempt / test at using Amazon’s affiliate system. I think if I added it up I generated 10,000 click and 2 sales of Greg Bear’s books over the years . 

Mystery Bookstore

This section was hot for a while – again it was an early test of basic internet programming and using Amazon’s web services and affiliate system. Almost all of the scripts were just barely adapted from Amazon’s own examples. The list of mystery authors was actually lifted from someone else’s web site who was doing practically the same thing. 

MapPoint Topics

This links to a list of other miscelaneous links – see what I mean about pointing in circles to nothing?!  However it looks like there may have been an attempt at Amazon web service programming again.
