I won’t say it had more appeal than that, and I didn’t really use it all that much, but the feeling that you’re getting some digital stuff — quite reliably and fast — for free was awesome. I don’t get the same feeling with bittorrent, maybe just because it’s so slow and the interface is different. Also, I don’t like web site feeders that direct people into it.

 If anything – iTunes is the Napster 2.0 for me. Of course you have to pay for everything, but it’s a decent interface (could be improved) and very reliable.
